Tentacell, the 26.4 volt (nominal) 25 amp/hr portable GPU powered by Lithium Ion Battery was developed for small to medium turbine aircraft and helicopters where portability requirements limit weight and size, but the need to maintain stable voltage required for a start cycle in modern machines employed with FADEC.

Empowering the Tentacell Ground Power Unit with IoT:

  • Real-Time Battery Health Monitoring:  IoT device monitors battery health in real-time, tracking parameters such as charge level, voltage, current, temperature, and discharge rate. This ensures that the battery is operating within its optimal range and provides insights into its overall condition.
  • State of Charge (SoC) and State of Health (SoH):  IoT device provide continuous updates on the battery's SoC (how much charge is left) and SoH (overall condition and performance capacity of the battery over time). This helps predict how much more engine starts can be expected from the unit before recharging.
  • Automated Alerts: IoT device generates automatic alerts when battery levels are low, when temperature levels exceed safe limits, or when the battery is nearing the end of its lifecycle.
  • Fleet Management Integration: For operations managing multiple Tentacell GPUs, IoT provides a centralized platform where data from all units can be analyzed collectively. Operators can manage the fleet more efficiently, ensuring units are deployed based on battery status and operational demand.
  • Location Tracking: Tentacell have GPS tracking for real-time location monitoring. This helps streamline ground operations, ensuring Tentacell GPUs are available where they are needed and optimizing fleet allocation.
